The Sustainability Conversation is Happening Everywhere

At the recent Sustainability Symposium produced by the Delaware Valley Green Building Council at Temple University, the breakfast keynote speakers included Mark Alan Hughes, Distinguished Senior Fellow at Penn Design and Lead Investigator at the DOE’s Energy Efficient Buildings Hub at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, James Fish, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Waste Management and Robert Powelson, Chair of The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.

This panel showcases just how important this topic is to government, business and to our educational institutions. Waste Management stated, during the symposium, that the discussion is finding its way into their boardroom and critical component to their strategic plan. The discussion is happening in our universities and our regulators are also involved in the discussions to learn how to maximize the impacts of policies. Knowing this, astute businesses leaders are working with government legislators and educators to develop policies that promote growth and are mindful of environmental impacts.
